Wine Collection Inventory: Track Bottles, Storage, and Accessories
Published August 15, 2026
A simple wine inventory helps you remember what is in a rack, cabinet, or cellar and where each bottle is stored. It can also keep accessories and special bottles easy to identify.
Record the details that distinguish a bottle
Photograph the label and note producer, vintage, region, bottle size, and the rack or storage location. Use a separate entry for distinctive bottles or grouped records for everyday bottles stored together.
Track storage and accessories
- Photograph shelves, racks, coolers, and storage cases.
- Keep openers, preservation tools, glasses, and serving accessories with their location notes.
- Add condition notes for damaged labels, broken racks, or missing accessories.
Keep records current
Update the list after a bottle is added, moved, opened, or given away. A quick location update keeps the inventory useful without turning it into a detailed tasting log.
Checklist
- Photograph labels and storage areas.
- Add bottle or group details and locations.
- Record accessories and condition notes.
- Update after the collection changes.
